CAGLA
SOKULLU
Sirens // 220316
i wonder if sirens ever tired of singing
if the ocean itself let go of the waves
for sometimes the sky is too heavy
the land too uneven to cross
though i doubt they could ever let go
of the taste of music in their mouths
of the rush of water across the thirsty shore
i wonder if it was the two playing in the water
the splashes of wavebreak from their laughter
or the tones that left their lips under naked moons
and the way they kissed to bring forth the dawn
that convinced the sirens to serenade their night
and the ocean to be their lullaby
